SSE Thermal launches 2025 Community Investment Fund

24 Apr 2025

SSE Thermal has announced the launch of its Community Investment Fund for the second consecutive year.

The fund, part of a broader package of commitments, plans and activities, aims to enhance the lives of local residents, school children, young people, businesses and the environment, while strengthening SSE Thermal’s relationship with the communities around where it operates.

SSE Thermal's fleet of flexible power stations and gas storage sites play a crucial role in keeping the lights on across the UK and Ireland while driving forward the energy transition. The company is also at the forefront of developing new low-carbon sources of flexible power using technologies including carbon capture and hydrogen.

With a commitment to being a good neighbour in the communities in which it operates, the dedicated Community Investment Fund has been designed to support initiatives that matter most to local people. Through the programme, SSE Thermal is creating a lasting legacy and making a meaningful contribution to communities. Last year, SSE Thermal granted more than £130,000 in funding to organisations across GB and Ireland, making a significant difference in the lives of residents.

"At SSE Thermal, we strive to be a good neighbour, and the Community Investment Fund is only one way we support local organisations. "
